July 24, 2017

(Areas: Kirehe, Kayonza, Rwamagana, Nyamata, and Ngenda – total of 16 groups )
After healing and reconciliation seminars, participants often from different sides of
the conflict come together to form a Unity Group and work together in social,
economic and cultural activities:
 Sports;
 Choirs and traditional dance;
 Income generation activities e.g. craft making, tailoring, crop trading, and soap
The programme aims to build the operational capacity of the Unity Groups so that
they will continue to inspire other members of the local communities by providing
testimonies of forgiveness and reconciliation. 16 Unity groups have been set up and
meet regularly.
